Are you finding it hard to start the conversation around periods, or you’re finding resistance to your attempts to start the conversation with your daughter?
Is she aged between 10-13 and on the cusp of womanhood?
Do you think about your own period knowledge as a young girl and wished you knew more?
You want a daughter who is confident and comfortable with her first period and what puberty brings?
Do you envisage having open and honest conversations with your daughter and the confidence to answer her questions?
Do you want to connect with your daughter on a level that acknowledges their transition from child to young women?
Well this workshop is perfect for you and your daughter. During our time together we will:
Normalise the conversation around periods and put your worried or anxious girls mind at ease
Discuss different menstrual hygiene products, and give your child the best choice for them.
Discuss the female body from a wholistic and empowering point of view, with no shame, fear or embarrassment
Confidently connect with your daughter around conversations about her body, puberty, and menstruation. It’s time to put aside all the shame, secrecy and disgust that is often associated with the arrival of our period.
I have designed this workshop as a safe space for girls to freely talk, engage and connect. Together we will:
Discuss the anatomy of our reproductive organs
Signs of puberty and menstrual cycle
Learn what products are available and what might be right for us
Discuss the inner seasons of our cycle
Have a fun, laugh, sing, dance and do a craft activity
Prepare for Menarche + right of passage
Connect as a group (with mothers attending the second part and sharing their stories and hearing what the girls have learnt)
How we workshop
Beginning session - girls come by themselves
Break - Mothers or carers come back and enjoy some refreshments and snacks (light lunch provided)
Second Session - mothers and daughters are together for this session
Girls receive a bag with sample products, information sheets covering topics discussed and a take home item they make during the session.
